MENTOR MOM FAQ
Q: Where do I start?
A: Pray, pray, pray! Specifically ask the Lord for women who are grounded in their faith, in a growing relationship with the Lord and desiring to pour into the lives of young moms.
Q: What is the right age for a mentor mom?
A: There is not a specific age, however she should be one who is further in her walk of life in respect to spiritual matters and life experiences and her children are older. Typically Mentor Moms are in there late 40's and beyond.
Q: How many Mentor Moms do we need?
A: One Mentor Mom for every 4-6 ladies works best, however please adjust to whatever works best for your group.
Q: Where do you find a Mentor Mom?
A: Look within your church body and seek advice from a pastor, life group/Sunday school leader.
Q: What is important to share with a prospective Mentor Mom?
A: How and why you were guided to talk to them. Either through prayer or someone’s suggestion, that they are known as a woman who is walking in a growing relationship with the Lord who desires to serve others.
Share the basics of being a Mentor Mom: day, time, order of class schedule, what is required of them during class and outside of class.
Q: What is the next step?
A: Ask them to pray about becoming a Mentor Mom if the Lord leads them to “yes”, assure them you will join them in prayer as you begin this journey together. Give them the Mentor Mom guidelines.
If they say “no”, thank them for letting you share and ask them to participate through prayer.
